TIKAHTNU COMMONS
Anchorage, Alaska
PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS
The $100-million-plus project is expected to include 12 to 15 major retail stores and a total of 60 to 75 businesses, including small shops, restaurants and other service and entertainment businesses. These stores include new-to-Alaska chains, such as the 171,000-square-foot Target store built in the first phase of the project. Kohl's, Best Buy, Lowe's, PetSmart, Sports Authority, and others will follow.
Tikahtnu Commons is a one-stop shopping destination for the whole family. The project distinguishes itself through high-quality architecture and construction, including variations in building facades and rooflines, an abundance of color, a pedestrian-friendly design, dispersed parking and screened and/or hidden service entrances.
In support of this 95 acre development, DOWL HKM provided geotechnical investigations, traffic impact analysis, large retail establishment site plan review, rezone, highway screening, sign variance, commercial tract subdivision, fragment lot site plan, ALTA and topographic survey, certified and record plot plans, civil and landscape design development, civil and landscape construction documents, water and sewer mainline extensions, permitting, engineering services during construction, record drawings, and road design and signal plans for the off site improvements.
