LABORATORY TESTING
Alaska Testlab has several laboratories within Alaska as well as mobile labs that can be placed directly on project sites. Our main testing facility is in Anchorage, is USACE validated, and performs more than 200 tests in soils, aggregates, rock, concrete, masonry, and asphalt. Our Anchorage lab is also AASHTO Accredited. Our current accreditation listing through the AASHTO Accreditation program can be found below.
FIELD TESTING
Alaska Testlab offers Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) testing in the field to ensure compliance with specifications, building codes, and other published standards. Our field technicians are ACI and WAQTC certified in soil and aggregates, Portland Cement Concrete, hot mix asphalt, and in place density testing.
INSPECTION SERVICES
Our Special Inspection program provides QC and QA to benefit our clients and the construction team. Our inspectors are involved in the proper fabrication, installation, and placement of specific structural components and materials as outlined in the International Building Code, plans, specifications, and other industry standards.
SPECIALTY SERVICES
Our team can provide a variety of other testing, both in the lab and in the field. These include: specialty lab tests, mix designs, ground penetrating radar, floor flatness, concrete moisture, and gloss measurements. Call for more details on how we can help with your specific needs.

OVER 60 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Alaska Testlab celebrates over 65 years of construction experience across the state of Alaska. Formed as a testing lab in 1956. Alaska Testlab was purchased in 1974 by Dickinson and Oswald, the owners and operators of DOWL, a multidisciplinary engineering firm. Alaska Testlab operated as a separate division of DOWL until 2008 when the two companies merged. In 2018, DOWL and Alaska Testlab amicably separated and Alaska Testlab was relaunched as a small, Veteran and woman-owned business.
Over the years, the mission has remained unchanged: provide quality construction materials testing and inspection services in support of commercial construction projects working for owners, contractors, developers, federal, state, and municipal government clients.
